More About Me

I grew up playing the piano and later developed a passion for singing, guitar, and songwriting. Music has always been my way of connecting with others and with myself, offering a powerful and meaningful form of self-expression. Over time, I became deeply aware of the connection between music and wellbeing- something that has been recognised across cultures for centuries. This understanding led me to pursue Music Therapy, exploring how music can support expression, regulation, and connection in ways that words alone often cannot.
During my Honours year, I facilitated a community-based project focused on songwriting and music production with vulnerable adolescents living in a children’s village. This work supported self-expression, identity exploration, and the development of confidence. In my Master’s degree, I completed a dissertation on the use of Vibroacoustic Therapy with autistic children, which highlighted its emotion-regulating benefits, among other therapeutic outcomes.
Work experience
I have experience working with various demographics, including:
-
Mental health and traum-related challenge
-
Neurodivergence
-
Children with developmental and sensory challenges
-
Physical disabilities
-
Older adults (dementia and speech-related challenges)
Through my studies and practical experience, I've experienced the powerful impact of music and the arts in fostering self-expression, emotional regulation, resilience, creating meaningful moments, and enhancing overall wellbeing.

My Ethos
At the heart of my practice is the belief that the client is the expert. While I bring extensive training and an evidence-based foundation, I believe that each person already holds the capacity for growth and healing in their own unique way. My role is to support and facilitate this process, using the arts as my co-therapist and working from a strengths-based perspective that honours each individual’s existing resources.
Time and again, I witness how music can offer new and meaningful experiences of ourselves. Through creative processes such as music listening and making, songwriting, movement, and art, I aim to support clients on a journey of self-discovery, self-expression, and resilience.
